Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using TimeAnchor (timeanchor.aramantos.dev), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service Description
TimeAnchor is a free, open-source blockchain timestamp verification tool provided by Aramantos Digital. It allows you to:
- Verify OpenTimestamps (OTS) proofs against the Bitcoin blockchain
- Verify hash-based timestamps on Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains
- Verify ProveChain proofs and shared proof links
- Verify individual files and entire folders
TimeAnchor is a verification-only tool. It does not create, store, or manage timestamps. To create timestamps, use OpenTimestamps (free) or ProveChain (managed service).
3. User Responsibilities
When using TimeAnchor, you agree to:
- Use the service lawfully and in good faith
- Not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the service's functionality
- Not use the service to verify materials involved in illegal activity
- Maintain your own copies of all files and proof files you wish to verify
4. Privacy and Data Handling
TimeAnchor is designed to be privacy-first:
- All file processing (hashing) happens locally in your browser
- Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third party
- No user accounts, no registration, no personal data collection
- Only cryptographic hashes leave your browser, and only when you initiate a verification
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Intellectual Property
TimeAnchor is open-source software released under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the source code in accordance with that license.
The TimeAnchor name, logo, and branding remain the property of Aramantos Digital. The MIT License applies to the source code, not the brand identity.
6. Third-Party Services
TimeAnchor interacts with third-party services during the verification process:
- OpenTimestamps calendar servers: for Bitcoin proof verification
- Public blockchain RPC endpoints: for Ethereum/EVM verification
- ProveChain API: for ProveChain proof and share link verification
Aramantos Digital is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services. Verification results depend on the correct functioning of external blockchain infrastructure.
7. Disclaimers and Warranties
7.1 Service Limitations
TimeAnchor is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Aramantos Digital does not guarantee:
- Legal acceptance of verification results in any jurisdiction
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service
- Fitness for any specific legal or regulatory purpose
- Availability of third-party blockchain infrastructure
7.2 Verification vs. Legal Proof
Blockchain timestamp verification confirms that a cryptographic hash existed at a specific time on a blockchain. It does not prove who created the file, only that someone with access to the file submitted its hash. Do not treat TimeAnchor verification results as sole evidence of authorship without corroborating evidence. TimeAnchor is not a legal service and does not provide legal advice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aramantos Digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of TimeAnchor, including but not limited to: reliance on verification results, inability to verify a timestamp, or third-party service outages. Since TimeAnchor is a free service with no paid tiers, total liability is limited to zero.
9. Force Majeure
Aramantos Digital is not liable for service interruptions caused by: telecommunications failures, cyber-attacks (provided reasonable preventive measures are in place), changes in law or regulation, natural disasters, or failures of third-party services including blockchain networks, calendar servers, cloud providers, or RPC endpoints.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, then mediation, and if necessary, through the courts of Ireland.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
